Nilesh Chauhan

Nilesh Chauhan is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Aroneu. Few people understand the business of automotive software as completely as he does: connected cars, telematics, and the shift to software-defined vehicles, where a car's features are built, updated and sold through software.

He grew up near Ahmedabad, decided at 16 to study in Germany and has lived there since 2002. After consulting for DAX companies at PricewaterhouseCoopers and building cloud systems at Ernst & Young, he spent twelve years working closely with Volkswagen Group brands including Audi, Porsche, Bentley, Lamborghini and MAN on their connected car products, and was central to bringing that work to India through Valtech Mobility.

He sees a vehicle the way a carmaker, its suppliers and its drivers each see it, and he is as fluent in the commercial questions as in the technical ones: what a feature costs to build and run, how it reaches the market and who will pay for it. Bring him a problem from the mobility industry and he will usually return a business answer within the same conversation.

Over those years he met the people who now lead Aroneu with him. Mary Monika Tiruchunapally and Bapi Chakraborty built the India engineering team. Years later they came back together as Aroneu's founding members. Nilesh leads the company from Eschborn, near Frankfurt.
